Over-run pops/bangs and burbles (petrol)
Sound tuning (also known as crackle maps or anti-lag exhaust maps) modifies ignition timing and fuelling during throttle lift-off and gear changes to produce over-run pops, bangs and burbles from the exhaust. This feature is popular on performance petrol vehicles and is typically applied alongside a Stage 1 or Stage 2 map. The level of sound enhancement can be tailored from subtle to aggressive.
